# Sell Initial Button & Feature

The "Sell Initial" features works by logging your initial $SOL amount you put into the coin you purchased.

The bot tracks your initial entry amount, and allows you to 1-click this button, to sell that amount.

This only works if you are in PROFIT or break-even because you cannot sell your initial amount if your trade is negative.

Example:

1. You put 1 $SOL into a token
2. That token goes up, and it's now worth 2 $SOL
3. If you click "Sell Initial", the bot will sell 1 $SOL worth of the token because that is what you initially put into the token

**This can be a very powerful feature to help you always stay in profit, by allowing you to extract your initial amount of money and protect your capital.**

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.sanjibot.io/beginner-setup/buying-selling-and-trading/sell-initial-button-and-feature.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
